China's Central Television, jointly with the digital firm of Ali Cloud, Tuesday released the unique APP product that is authorized to broadcast the World Cup live. Besides TV and web, APP on mobile devices has become the 3rd platform to watch the tournament live.

Ali Cloud, subordinated to China's biggest e-commerce firm Alibaba Group, provides the cloud computing techniques and platform for APP "CCTV5" which is the only authorized mobile software to broadcast the live World Cup on smart phones and pads in China's Mainland.

Last week, Alibaba Group just invested 1.2 billion yuan to become the equal partner of Guangzhou Evergrande, the best soccer team and the wealthiest club in China.

Usually, the live show on web is couple of minutes slower than the process on TV. Ali Cloud intends to take advantage of Content Delivery Network (CDN) to improve the broadcasting quality.

APP "CCTV5" also offer alternative perspective of the live game. Fans of Team A have chance to watch the game by different angle from fans of Team B. Audience have more options to switch the scene and to support their favorable teams.

It's estimated that millions of fans will visit the "CCTV5" app during the football carnival, which will test the service if it could meet the demand.

In addition to "CCTV5", some other Apps, include the official Xinhua, are also using the digital platform of Ali Cloud.
