A Chongqing community is calling a local fruit vendor rotten for playing a recorded loop of himself cursing out his mother for selling at an adjacent stand.

Sick of competing for business, Huang Bo, 28, broadcast the repeated profanities directed at his 50-year-old mother, Wang Fen, for about half an hour from his Jiulongpo district fruit stall, said witnesses.

“I have never seen someone curse his mother like that,” said a resident surnamed Jiang.

Disgusted by his son’s behavior, Huang Bo’s father called police. When officers failed to silence Huang, the father did what any parent would do – beat his adult son.

“Those words were malicious,” said Huang’s father, “I was furious that even the police could not stop him. I seldom beat him before,” he said.

Family members explain Huang’s relationship with his parents have long been strained over financial issues. 

However, tensions between mother and son have been mounting since Huang began selling fruit about 10 meters from Wang’s stand.

Their confrontations had nearly turned violent on several occasions, media reported.

Locals said Huang and Wang compete in price as a way to attract customers.
