A nursing room project started for working mothers earlier this year by the Beijing government. The rooms are located in office buildings and are intended to give mothers a place to pump breast milk and rest. There were 200 nursing rooms in Beijing as of September 4.

Men who accompany women to go shopping. Many big shopping malls are now providing entertainment and relaxation areas for boyfriends and husbands. These areas allow men to wait in comfort while their wives and girlfriends shop.

Insect-eating club

吃虫俱乐部 (chīchónɡjùlèbù)

A club launched this year in Japan that promotes the consumption of insects. Insects are a nutritious source of protein and dietary minerals, say members of the group. The club regularly organizes insect feasts.

Screen refresh clan

刷阅族 (shuāyuèzú)

People who earn money by increasing the reading rate of public WeChat accounts. Some can make as much as 100 yuan ($16.30) per day from such efforts. The clan was born in late July after WeChat started disclosing the number of people who read articles posted on official accounts. The higher the rate, the more an account can earn from advertisers.
