Senior Chinese military officers meets supreme commander of Thai armed forces

Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Fan Changlong on Friday met with Supreme Commander of Thai Armed Forces Tanasak Patimapragorn to promote bilateral ties.

Tanasak Patimapragorn was appointed deputy prime minister and foreign minister last month.

Fan said the China-Thailand relationship has brought the two peoples tangible benefits and contributed to peaceful regional development. The cooperation between the two armed forces has also had a lot of achievements, he said.

Fan called on the two sides to push forward country-to-country relations and deepen military-to-military ties.

Tanasak Patimapragorn said as Thai deputy prime minister and foreign minister, he will continue to promote the relationship between the two countries and believes that the two armed forces will work more closely together.

Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army Fang Fenghui also held a meeting with Tanasak Patimapragorn on Friday. They exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and the regional security situation.

Earlier this week, Tanasak Patimapragorn attended the 11th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in south China's Nanning City.
