A former senior official with China's top economic body will stand on trial next week in Hebei Province, according to a local court's announcement on Friday.
Liu Tienan, 59, former deputy chief of the
National Development and Reform Commission, will face an open trial for bribery on September 24 in Langfang, Hebei, Langfang Intermediate People's Court announced on its Sina Weibo account.
Liu allegedly accepted bribes of over 10 million yuan ($1.6 million) and sought benefits for relatives and friends surpassing 140 million yuan, caixin.com reported. He was dismissed from his post in May 2013.
