Senior diplomats from China, Japan and South Korea gathered in Beijing on Tuesday for a cyber security meeting to enhance trust and cooperation in cyberspace, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

The meeting is the first of its kind since the establishment of the China-Japan-South Korea cyber security consultation mechanism this year.

The three countries discussed the process of building trust online within the framework of the International Telecommunication Union, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Regional Forum, BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
