A job fair for returning Chinese students who have studied overseas was held at the Landmark Towers on October 18, attracting 135 companies and more than 3,000 applicants, reported the Beijing Youth Daily.

Statistics show that 70 percent of the applicants at the event have a master's degree, with another 20 percent holding a doctorate, and 10 percent with a bachelor's degree. The majority of applicants were female, accounting for 64 percent. An estimated 32 percent of applicants were back from the UK, with graduates from the US ranking second, with 18 percent. Many parents also showed up to hand in applications on behalf of their children who couldn't attend.
