Commemorative medals of the 2014 Beijing International Marathon were found for sale online after the competition on October 19, reported the Beijing Youth Daily.

The medals are currently priced between 200 yuan ($33) and 300 yuan at some stores on taobao.com, China's biggest online retailer. An online-store owner said he bought the medals from the runners at the finish line. Medals from previous Beijing races can also be found online, catering to those who collect such souvenirs. Medals from the 2006 race are priced as high as 1,500 yuan. A total of 20,000 medals were granted to runners this year who finished the race in the required time.
