"Because it is a dairy product, yogurt is prohibited from entering the country by mail. If customs discovers it, the product will be either destroyed or returned to sender."

With the annual November 11 online shopping spree right around the corner, retail giant Amazon announced Wednesday that more than 80 million kinds of products from the US, Germany, Spain, France, the UK and Italy will soon be available to Chinese consumers. Products purchased on the websites of Amazon in these countries will be delivered to customers by mail. However, since the beginning of this year, the local international mail distribution center has intercepted more than 10,000 packages of yogurt, most of which were bought by mothers for their babies. But in order to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, it is against the law to mail dairy products into China.
