A sex-shop owner was recently sentenced to six months in prison, in addition to a year of probation and a 2,000 yuan ($326) fine for illegally selling sildenafil citrate, a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction, the Beijing Morning Post reported.

The owner, surnamed Li, was found guilty by the Dongcheng District People's Court of selling the drug, more commonly known by its trade name of Viagra, since last October.

The stock was unmarked, lacking basic information such as the date of manufacture, the label of the manufacturer, and quality certificates.

In China, Viagra is a prescription drug, and can only be sold in hospitals and authorized pharmacies. In a similar case, a man surnamed Che was also given a sentence of six months in prison with a year of probation and a fine of 2,000 yuan.
