Australia beat South Korea 1-0 at the International Youth Football Tournament here on Tuesday.

Australia ranked the third after the match as they collected 4 points during the tournament, and the South Koreans have to sit at the bottom with merely one point from three games.

Substitute striker Jamie Maclaren made the winner on 39 minutes from a clumsy clearance by a Korean defender when the ball hit him and bounced into the empty net following chaos in the penalty area.

Maclaren came close on three other occasions, only to squander all of them. The Koreans fought hard on the pitch, but had only one goal-bound chance throughout the match. In the 45th minute, Jong Jae Hyuk's curving shot inside the box was denied by keeper John Hall with a nice diving save.

China's under 22 team will play Brazil in the last match of the tournament. The hosts are now levelled with Brazil with 4 points, the clash between the two will decide the winner of the tournament.
