Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang visited on Friday a primary school in Ljubljana where he attended annual "Healthy Breakfast" activities with Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar.

Wang, who arrived to a warm welcome at the entrance of Trnovo Elementary School, joined the school children having traditional breakfast which is a government-sponsored activity aiming at promoting children health and development and to popularize domestic agricultural products.

It is of great significance to guarantee food security for school children, Wang said, noting that such experience is worth China learning.

Admitting many children in poor areas remain with no access to high quality food, Wang said the Chinese government has started offering meal allowance to 26 million students at school in a bid to ensure their nutritional sufficiency.

In a lively atmosphere, Wang, together with Cerar, watched the whole process of preparing healthy breakfast.

They also watched the school children dancing to folk music, singing Chinese song "Selling rice balls," and making a brief introduction in Chinese about the difference of breakfast habit in China and Slovenia.

Trnovo Elementary School offers classes of Chinese language and culture for Grade 1-6 pupils, and optional course of Chinese language for Grade 7-9. Some 150 students at the school attend the classes regularly.

Chatting with the school pupils, Wang told the children to keep fit, and wished them making progress in Chinese learning in order to make bridge for China-Slovenia friendship.
