Students across the country will read the Constitution on December 4, the first National Constitution Day, according to a government circular.

Headmasters have been asked to organize a study session of the Constitution for teachers or give a lecture to students on the day, according to the circular issued by the Ministry of Education.

China's top legislature this month designated December 4 as National Constitution Day to promote the charter and advance the rule of law.

Education authorities will establish a long-term plan to teach the Constitution.

In places where conditions allow, the document will become part of entrance examinations to senior high schools. Constitution textbooks will be published for primary and high schools.
