A 6.4-magnitude earthquake shook western Panama early Monday, authorities reported.
The quake, which occurred at 3:54 am local time (0854 GMT), was centered west of the country. There were no reports of victims or major damage.
The quake was also felt in the capital Panama City, Panama's La Prensa daily reported.
The state-run Geosciences Institute at the University of Panama said the epicenter of the quake was located 8.02 degrees latitude north and 82.7 degrees longitude west.
Another earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale took place Saturday in the same region, near the country's border with Costa Rica, causing mild panic among local residents.
