"We rushed into the sea to help her."

Chen Xuepei, a student at Yanshan University in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, said this in reference to the effort he and his 17 schoolmates made to save a woman who attempted to commit suicide in the sea. The woman was first found by a man surnamed Zhu, who was taking pictures nearby. Zhu said he saw her take off her coat and walk into the sea. When the water reached the woman's waist, Zhu immediately shouted for help. Chen and his schoolmates rushed over, along with three other passersby, and they tied their wrists with scarves to form a 40-meter human chain to successfully rescue the woman.
