At least eight militants were killed when US pilotless aircraft launched missile strikes along Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Friday, local media reported.

Dunya TV said the aircraft pounded a militants' hideout located at Afghan side of the border when several suspected militants were gathering there.

Earlier reports said the hideout was located at the Pakistani side of the border.

Two missiles fired by the aircraft leveled the hideout and eight militants were killed.

Identities of the killed militants have not been determined yet, but last few drone attacks in Afghanistan targeted hideouts of Pakistani Taliban who escaped to the country following major military operations by military in Pakistan's tribal area of North Waziristan and Khyber Agency.

In an earlier drone strike on November 25, chief of Tehreek-i- Taliban Pakistan, Mullah Fazllulah, narrowly escaped the strike launched at the Afghan side of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
