The odds of receiving an unexpected windfall from stingy banks might be lower than being hit by lightning, but a woman in Southwest China's Sichuan Province hit the jackpot. After receiving a notice from her bank which said 496,906,463.18 yuan ($80.25 million) had been transferred to her account, 51-year-old Mu got the shock of her life. But perhaps the bank hit the jackpot too since after a double check on an ATM and making sure this was not some sort of scam, this honest woman decided to report the mistake to her bank and gave back this huge fortune. A "system failure," according to the bank authorities, caused this mistake. Besides praising her honesty, netizens also pointed out that the money would be retracted anyway because the bank would not ignore the mistake for so long. "So," a netizen joked, "the very first thing I would do if it happened to me was transfer the money to one of my accounts in Vanuatu, then I would be on the next flight out of the country."
