Nippon Paint China wins three awards

The fourth China Charity Festival, themed "Engaging in charity to influence China" was held in Beijing on January 22. Nippon Paint China, one of the most well-known paint and coating companies in Asia, won three major awards, including Best Annual Philanthropic Group, Best Annual Philanthropic People for President of Nippon Paint China Eric Chung, and Best Philanthropic Project.

The event advocates for social awareness and corporate responsibility, encouraging enterprises to positively impact society. With its "Color, Way of Love" campaign and CSR projects, Nippon Paint China strives to fulfill its commitment to society while also maintaining its status as one of the most successful corporations in the country.

Since 2008, Nippon Paint China's welfare project "Color, Way of Love," invites distributors, enterprises and employees to improve school environments and provide educational support to schools in China. Nippon Paint China also launched the Society Care project in 2010, which focuses on supporting disadvantaged groups.

Over the past five years Chung has led more than 7,600 employees in social welfare projects. His work was recognized when he received the Best Annual Philanthropic People.

"Sustainable development, as an important part of Nippon's business strategy, represents the commitments Nippon Paint makes to the enterprise itself, the staff and their families, as well as all stakeholders. We take care of vulnerable groups and work to fulfill our commitment to society," he said.

Nippon Paint China believes its commercial operations should embrace the natural environment.

Over the years, the company has launched five major CSR projects namely "Employee Care," "1+3 Project," "Color, Way of Love," "Green Movement" and "Society Care," pledging to work for a balanced ecosystem and a more philanthropic world.

The projects have had tangible impact across 30 cities in China with 200 renovated school campuses and 15 society care projects.

Meanwhile, Nippon Paint China has created 195 art classrooms and has hosted more than 80 "Color, Way of Love" activities. Nippon Paint China has received support from more than 30 corporate partners and non-governmental organizations. More than 1,800 staff volunteers from seven divisions of Nippon Paint China were involved in the welfare cause.

Ariel Wu, CSR, PR and brand communications director of Nippon Paint China, said the company would continue to strive to create a positive impact in China.

"It is not difficult to do a good deed, but to continue to do so can be. Nippon Paint China will do whatever it takes to fulfill ongoing CSR commitments," she said.
