Youth movies are a genre that directors in China never seem to tire of. Since actress-turned director Zhao Wei's maiden work So Young in 2013, films in this genre have come to dominate the big screen in the Chinese mainland.

Another youth film Young for You, starring Michelle Chen, Zheng Kai and Bao Beier, is now set to hit big screens in the Chinese mainland on April 30.

The film focuses on a group of senior university students and their lives and romances on campus.

Directed by young director Dai Rui, the movie features a "Dream Team" cast from the youth film genre with Chen previously starring in the Taiwanese hit You Are the Apple of My Eye, while Zheng and Bao starred in So Young.

According to the director, although 2015 looks to be a bumper year for youth movies, Young For You is actually a film that can be appreciated by audiences of all ages.

Dai added that while other youth films have focused on people born in the 1970s and 80s, his film focuses on the generation born during the 1990s.
