Soccer will become part of the high school entrance exam in Beijing starting in 2016, the Beijing Morning Post reported. Some middle schools and elementary schools have already added more soccer classes to their curriculums.

Some teachers expressed concerns as to whether they can teach their students how to play soccer in a short amount of time. However, many said they expect the test won't be that difficult and that students may only have to complete a number of passes and goals.

Outside of the classroom, there are few places where students can play soccer for free.
