This is my second time attending the Boao Forum. The first time was in 2013, when President Xi Jinping also attended the forum.

For me, the Boao Forum is an event that drives up the level of adrenaline.

News happens there and as a reporter you need to be ready at any time to cover them.

And at nearly every panel discussion, you can spot renowned experts, high-level officials or celebrities and you might also bump into them at any time.

The discussions, covering nearly every major public concern, are also very insightful.

This made it quite difficult for me to decide which forums to attend and which not to.

The forums offer very diversified topics that interest most people.

As a business reporter, I'm more interested in topics like Internet finance, new-energy cars and local government debts.

But if you are a reporter specializing in culture, social affairs or even the entertainment sector, the Boao forum can also offer you good topics.

Speaking of topics, China's Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the "One Belt, One Road" initiative is definitely the hottest issues at the Boao Forum.

The panel discussion on the AIIB on Saturday saw a full house - the panel was so popular that some reporters had to wait in line for about five minutes to get in.

I've talked with some foreign reporters during the forum, and all of them have expressed a strong interest in the two initiatives and want to discover how their country is involved with the initiatives.

Experts and executives told me that the Boao Forum has become a very important forum for political leaders and business executives to voice their concerns and an event of global significance.

I have sensed that as well.
