China has temporarily closed its embassy in Yemen and its Consulate General in Aden, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying on Monday.

Hua told reporters at a regular press conference that all staff working at the Chinese Embassy in Yemen have left the country after assisting the evacuation of Chinese nationals, due to the worsening security conditions.

China moved the last batch of 24 Chinese nationals from Yemen's western port of al-Hodayda to Djibouti on Monday,

The Linyi naval vessel, which was responsible for the evacuation of the last batch of Chinese nationals and embassy staff, also carried 45 Sri Lankan nationals to safety in the East African nation, at the request of Sri Lanka's government.
