Media shy Chinese folk singer Li Zhi released the schedule for his upcoming See 2015 six-city national tour at a high-profile press event in Beijing on Wednesday.

Heading to Shenzhen, Xi'an, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing and Beijing, the tour marks the first time that Li will travel and perform at these cities.

At the press event, Li said that the tour could be seen as a final exam for him and his music band.

Born to a rural family, Li became a professional singer in 1995 and gradually established his style while gaining a legion of followers.

 His 2014 New Year concert I/O sold out all 3,600 tickets in only 13 minutes - something of a miracle in today's music circles.

Over the past 10 years, Li hasn't signed with any studios and has stayed far away from media and any form of music talent shows.

According to him he prefers the indie scene.

"I don't force anyone to love my music, but do believe they will agree with my music philosophy," he said at the press event.

The artist's first collaboration with SAG Work Studio, the first leg of his national tour will start from Shenzhen on May 23.
