Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday spoke to his Nepalese counterpart Sushil Koirala after two new quakes struck the neighboring country Tuesday.

Modi assured Koirala of all possible cooperation from India, while talking with him on the situation arising due to Tuesday's tremors, a Prime Minister's Office statement said.

"We reviewed the situation arising due to yesterday's tremors... I assured PM Koirala of all possible co-operation from our side in the wake of the earthquake," Modi tweeted.

At least 65 people were killed and nearly 2,000 injured Tuesday when an earthquake of 7.3 magnitude hit Nepal, followed by a less strong quake minutes later.

At least 17 were killed in India also in the incidents caused by the tremors from the Nepal quakes, mostly in the eastern state Bihar.
