A man destroys a bus that met the standard to be scrapped in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Wednesday. It is part of local police authorities' campaign to destroy around 110 such vehicles in a bid to ensure transport safety. China had 154 million vehicles by the end of 2014, but only 4 percent of them are scrapped annually, lower than the 6 to 8 percent annual figure in developed countries, Beijing-based newspaper China Automotive News reported.
