Investors of the TV series Hero Cao Cao (2016) were sued for the death of the show's casting director, a man surnamed Fei. Fei's family filed the lawsuit to the Chaoyang District Court, according to the Beijing Morning Post report.

Fei became the casting director of the show in August, 2011 and died from a heart attack on set in November. The investors promised to compensate Fei's family 2.26 million yuan ($364,538), but after they paid 1.08 million yuan and another 85,000 yuan for Fei's funeral affairs, they refused to pay the remainder due compensation.

The case is currently under reviewing.
