Galeries Lafayette surprised trendsetters and French food lovers in Beijing with the opening of France's prestigious supermarket, Lafayette Gourmet on June 18.

Fashion and cuisine have always been the two main drivers of French culture. For those who love the food, Lafayette Gourmet is undoubtedly a symbol of happiness and convenience. Located on the fifth floor of Galeries Lafayette in Xicheng district, the supermarket is the biggest of its kind in the capital and offers a diverse selection and first-class quality. All of its ingredients and food are 100 percent imported from Europe and more than 80 percent of the food is imported from France, including caviar, foie gras, dessert, ham, cheese and beer.
