"Bum's the word" for one Guangzhou man surnamed Cai as to the origin of a plastic cylinder doctors removed from his anus over the weekend, local media reported.

Saturday morning, doctors at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine successfully extracted the 25-centimeter-long object after a complicated two-hour procedure.

Cai didn't reveal who made the insertion or why, a doctor on duty at the hospital told Guangzhou Daily.

CT scans revealed a flashlight-shaped object with a radius of about two centimeters.

The object was so deeply lodged in Cai's rectum that doctors were forced to surgically remove it through his abdomen, read the report.

"He is in stable condition and will remain in observation for two days to monitor for intestinal bleeding," said Sun Feng, Cai's attending doctor.

"In the past 10 years, the last time I saw such a large object stuck in an anus was a cucumber, in a chef's anus," Sun added.

Cai and his family refused to comment. It is believed that the object may have been inserted during a dispute at a karaoke parlor, read the report.
