A ceremony marking 45 years of diplomatic relations between China and Chile took place in Beijing on August 26. Envoys, entrepreneurs, media and friendly groups attended the event, which coincided with the visit of the former President of Chile Eduardo Frei, the Minister of Public Works of Chile Alberto Undurraga and the Vice Minister of Trade of Chile Andres Rebolledo. The three appeared at the event with the Chilean Ambassador to China Jorge Heine. The Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress Qiangba Puncog and the Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Chao were also in attendance.
