The completion of the foundation of Nescafé Coffee Center (NCC) located in Pu'er Industrial Park in Yunnan Province marks the end of the early stage of the project. This stage involved a range of engineering work, including site flattening, piling and underground infrastructure construction, designed to lay a solid foundation for the main-body construction.

Despite it being the rainy season, well-organized deployment of employees guaranteed the successful implementation of scheduled tasks while still maintaining quality engineering standards. Now with the successive arrival of the main steel structure materials, the next step is to complete the construction of main steel structure, light steel roof and brick wall masonry. It is estimated this will be completed by the end of October.

 "The construction of NCC has been going smoothly since its commencement in March  and the center is expected to be put in operation in time for the best season for purchasing coffee," said Gonzalo Contreras, Nestlé Coffee agricultural service manager.

"Integrating training, experimentation and storage, NCC will provide training for coffee farmers and professionals to reinforce quality and promote coffee industry knowledge, and give support to coffee plantations in Pu'er and all over Yunnan," Contreras added.

Nestlé has been carrying on the concept of "Creating Shared Value" since Yunnan first started harvesting coffee beans in 1988. Nestlé provides farmers with technology and training projects with the support of the government in order to boost the local coffee industry.
