China and ASEAN countries will explore cooperation in e-commerce during the 12th China-ASEAN Expo lasting from Sept 18 to 21 in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

More than 500 political and business leaders as well as experts from China and 10 ASEAN countries will join the China-ASEAN e-commerce summit, scheduled from Sept. 18 to 19, on the sidelines of the expo. Executives from China's e-commerce giants including Alibaba and JD.com are also expected to make an appearance.

The summit will center around four topics -- "China, ASEAN Internet plus new economy", "China, ASEAN cross-border e-commerce new base", "Prospect of China, ASEAN economic and trade information sharing harbor", and "New opportunities of China, ASEAN innovation and business startups", said Ma Jixian, deputy director of Guangxi's commerce department.

A cooperation memorandum regarding the construction of China-ASEAN cross-border e-commerce platforms is also expected to be signed during the summit.

Around 1,000 orders have been exported from Nanning to 34 countries including Spain, Russia, the US and Canada after the city began piloting an international e-commerce platform in June, according to Diao Weihong, official in charge of e-commerce and information of Guangxi's commerce department.

Guangxi recorded 210 billion yuan (33 billion USdollars) in e-commerce trade volume last year, up by 65.9 percent from 2013. The volume reached 193.9 billion yuan during the first half of 2015, up by 84.7 percent from the same period last year.
