The 1st Sino-Nordic Cup Football Tournament took place at the Olympic Sports Center in Chaoyang district on September 20. Six football teams representing the embassies of Denmark, Sweden and Finland, the European Affairs Department of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Global Times and the Chinese Football Association participated in the game.

After fierce competition, the Chinese Football Association won the game. Organized jointly by the Global Times and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event was held in celebration of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the Nordic countries. High-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassies and the Global Times appeared at the event and gave speeches.
