Yu Zhengsheng met in Beijing on Tuesday with Tep Ngorn, Second Vice President of the Cambodian Senate.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), hailed the profound friendship between the countries which was initiated and cultivated by previous generations of leaders.
Recalling the meetings between Chinese President
Xi Jinping and Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Yu said they have reached important consensus in boosting all-round cooperation between both countries.
China highly values its ties with Cambodia, he said, urging to cement support for each other and deepen strategic cooperation.
The CPPCC hopes to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Cambodian Senate, maintain high-level exchanges and share experience, he added.
Tep Ngorn said Cambodia attaches great importance to its relations with China and supports China's Belt and Road initiative, vowing to enhance interconnectivity cooperation with the country.
