Poland hosted Exercise Dragon 2015, the largest training exercise of the Polish Armed Forces this year, at Orzysz training ground in northeast, NATO said in a press release Friday.

The exercise kicked off on Oct. 12 and culminated Friday, bringing together more than 7,000 troops from Canada, Germany, the United States and Britain, and approximately 700 tanks and fighting vehicles.

Exercise Dragon 2015 is part of a long-term, continuous process of preparing the Polish Armed Forces to implement their constitutional task of the defense of the state, conducted every two years in a diverse battlefield environment.

The multi-national program demonstrates effective adaptation and increase partnership in NATO's posture to maintain security and defend against external threats, according to NATO press release.

"I am delighted to be at our training ground with our allies. It highlights the European dimension of NATO. I think that for us it is particularly valuable," said Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister of Defense for Poland.
