On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba, a reception took place on November 26 at the Cuban Embassy in Beijing, drawing over 200 people, including government officials, envoys, entrepreneurs and members of the media. The Cuban ambassador to China Alberto Blanco Silva reviewed the great progress of bilateral relations in varied sectors, including the establishment of a Spanish teaching program and other programs provided to over 3,000 Chinese students in Cuba over the last few decades. Young Chinese singer Pu Jie sang the famous South American song "Siboney" at the event, winning applause from the crowd.
