Postal services should compensate their clients for lost and damaged parcels within seven days, according to a new regulation that takes effect on Tuesday.

People can file complaints to administrative organs if postal services fail to provide compensation on time, said the newly revised regulation on the administration of postal services.

Agencies with the China Securities Regulatory Commission should enforce measures, including freezing accounts while investigating cases.

China will also release the 10th edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, the nation's largest medicinal herb guide, on Tuesday, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
