US women's soccer star Abby Wambach is to publish a memoir in the fall of 2016.

The book named "Forward" is expected to "inspire others to dream big, and fight for a better world," Wambach said in a statement issued through Dey Street Books.

Wambach, 35, has scored 167 goals for the national team since 2003, the best record in the world. The striker led the United States to two-time Olympic top podium and one World Cup trophy.

Retired in October, Wambach is scheduled to play her final match against China on Dec. 16 in New Orleans.
