The first episode of the Chinese edition of popular US reality show Lip Sync Battle will be made available for streaming on Chinese streaming site Sohu TV and later aired on Shenzhen TV on Friday, according to a press release issued by Sohu TV and Shenzhen TV on January 22. In the press release, Sohu TV representative Deng Ye stressed that Lip Sync Battle is an important part of the streaming site's attempts to coproduce entertainment shows with broadcaster Shenzhen TV.

The very first lip sync show in China, Lip Sync Battle features three competitive rounds as well as short videos where competitors must dub classic video clips. The first episode will feature Chinese singer Han Geng, actress Liu Yan and comedian Qiao Shan as guest stars.

Deng explained that Sohu TV is confident that the series will succeed since lip syncing is very similar to the traditional Chinese performance known as shuanghuang, in which one person speaks or sings behind another person who moves accordingly.

Sohu TV and Shenzhen TV also announced that they plan to launch the third season of the Chinese edition of The Amazing Race in late 2016.
