A Chinese official at China's Embassy to Indonesia told the Global Times on Friday that the company working on the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train project is holding talks on project details and business permits with the Indonesia government and after the talks, the project will continue.

"Both governments and the company are determined to promote the development of the project," the official noted.

China Railway Corp denied the media reports Friday on its Weibo account saying that the project is now under smooth development.

According to the Jakarta Post report on Tuesday, Chinese investors in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train project have to "remain patient" after the project had already broken ground on January 21, as the Indonesia Transportation Ministry has yet to issue a necessary permit.

The $5.5 billion project is planned to be constructed by a joint-venture company, Kereta Cepat Indonesia China, and it is the first high-speed train project undertaken by Chinese investors in Southeast Asia, according to media reports.
