One of the world's biggest tents - The Big Top - was set up at Beijing's Chaoyang Park on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming debut of Wuma, the Chinese version of the world famous equestrian show Cavalia, on April 28.

The Canadian show has toured to numerous cities in the world and amused millions since its creation in 2003.

At the "tent raising" ceremony, the show's Canadian producer Normand Latourelle explained that it has been a tradition for the troupe to hold a ceremony for putting up The Big Top whenever the performance arrives at a new city.

The  main tent where the performance is held can hold up to 2,000 audience members.

According to Latourelle, the establishment of the "Cavalia Village" involves six tents including the white Big Top, a VIP tent and an admissions tent.

When set up, The Big Top appears as a majestic white cathedral with four towers each more than 30 meters high.

The central playground will be located inside the tent, where 40 acrobats and 40 horses will stage an equestrian performance mixed with multimedia and special effects as well as live music.
