A Nanjing kindergarten teacher was suspended for arranging "boxing matches" between hyperactive students that left one child seriously injured.

The teacher, surnamed Ge, admitted to Qixia district education authorities she arranged the student slugfests after getting fed up with trying to control the rowdy bunch on Friday.

Ge explained she had only wanted the kids to "let off a little steam," news.qq.com reported.

Parents complained to education authorities after children came home with bruises and one of the children suffered a serious neck injury.

The child's family soon posted a photo of him wearing a neck brace on social media.

"I don't know what kind of education methods this teacher uses, but I won't let my child attend this kindergarten. The teacher treats kids like monkeys," read the caption.

Pan Juan, a director at the school, condemned the fights and suspended Ge.
