Ford Motor Co showcased a wide range of cars at this year's Beijing auto show, from new-energy vehicles (NEVs) to premium sedans to pickup trucks, to meet the demand of Chinese customers.

Making its debut in the Chinese market was the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew. Ford announced Monday that for the first time, it will be selling its F-150 Raptor pickup truck in the Chinese market starting in 2017.

The high-performance off-road pickup will come with an exclusive high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which, paired with an all-new 10-speed transmission, could produce the power of a V8 with the fuel economy of a V6.

In the premium sedan segment, Ford introduced the newest, limited edition to the Taurus line. That's' the Taurus LTD, which has upgraded exterior and interior designs and improvements on intelligent technologies.

The Taurus LTD is the perfect car for business elites in China who want an "office on the wheels," Marin Burela, president of Changan Ford, told reporters at a briefing Monday.

Burela said all Ford's products are the results of listening to Chinese customers.

"We have had the most aggressive introduction of new cars into China of any brand, and we did that through listening to the voice of our Chinese customers, and we have delivered to China the vehicles and technologies that they have said that they truly value and they truly want," said Burela.

There is growing market demand for NEVs and popularity for SUVs, and Ford has been focused on these trends.

"[In terms of NEVs] our strategy has always been to electrify platforms, not individual cars, because if we electrified the platforms, then we can offer customers the power of choice," Burela said, adding Ford is expecting that 10 percent to 25 percent of its global volume will be NEVs by 2020.
