Volkswagen AG (VW) introduced two new high-end sedans - the Phideon and new Magotan - at the Beijing auto show, in an effort to expand its presence in the Chinese market.

As VW's first C-Class luxury sedan, the Phideon has received much attention since its global debut at the Geneva International Motor Show at the end of February.

It's the highlight of the VW brand's lineup at the Beijing auto show.

The all-new Phideon offers a host of high-end features, including luxury interior and exterior designs and technical configurations.

The Phideon is the first VW sedan to be based on the Modular Longitudinal Matrix, which is used for VW's Audi luxury sedans. With a body length exceeding 5 meters, the Phideon has a very spacious and comfortable interior.

Like the Phaeton, the Phideon will also be equipped with an air suspension system, similar to the systems used by fellow VW brand Bentley. The latest generation of this technology has five individually selectable driving modes.

Another highlight at the VW stage at the auto show was the new Magotan. The long-wheelbase sedan is based on the VW's state-of-the-art modular transverse matrix, which brings a rear passenger compartment with an unrivaled amount of space as well as incredibly dynamic body proportions.

The new Magotan also comes with features such as the Proactive Occupant Protection System, the Front Assist ambient traffic monitoring system with the City Emergency Braking function, the Side Assist lane change assistant and the Lane Assist lane departure warning system.

To further drive growth, VW said it will bring more than 50 new models to the Chinese market this year, including sport utility vehicles and new-energy vehicles.
