The finishing touches are being put on the new high-speed railway station in Urumqi, capital of Northwest China's
Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, with a trial run planned for July 1, according to news.iyaxin.com.
The station, on which construction began back in 2012, is estimated to be able to accommodate 8,000 passengers at any one time, with peak daily passenger volume expected to reach 240,000, according to Xinjiang Daily.
