Officials of Xingtai, North China's Hebei Province, apologized on Saturday to local residents for not releasing flooding casualty toll timely and accurately.
The torrential rain caused heavy losses and became a harsh lesson for the government officials, said Dong Xiaoyu, mayor of Xingtai, on Saturday evening at a press conference. To date the flood has left 114 people dead and 111 others missing.
