On July 26, Carrefour China officially released its 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report. The report describes the history, initiatives, and goals of Carrefour. It also gives an extensive review of Carrefour China's development over the past 20 years, with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility. The 2015 Carrefour China CSR Report comprehensively describes the evolution of Carrefour China's CSR concept and demonstrates its performance and achievements in practice.

The report starts with a message from Carrefour China's president and CEO Thierry Garnier and reviews Carrefour's achievements over more than 20 years of development in China. As of the end of 2015, Carrefour has established 228 supermarkets and more than 10 convenience stores in more than 60 cities in China, employing 60,000 people.

Through efforts made in food safety, farmer-supermarket direct purchase, energy saving and cost reduction, Carrefour has been seeking to provide qualified products and convenient services for Chinese consumers.

At the beginning of 2015, Carrefour China established modern logistics centers and e-commerce and convenience stores complete with upgrades under its new operational strategy. Garnier attributed all these achievements to Carrefour's spirit of continuous innovation and support from partners and consumers over the years.

2015 marks the 20th year since Carrefour's entry into China. The report lists a series of activities carried out to celebrate the 20th anniversary, including a picture collection themed The Most Beautiful 20 Years, a nationwide relay race, and a nationwide competition where the public gets to choose the 20 most beautiful Carrefour stores. Carrefour also had promotional activities around the country to reward consumers. A promotion for Carrefour online shoppers, stamp redemption for Disney's Mickey dolls, and discounts for consumers paying via WeChat and Alipay were among the most popular.

Carrefour is committed to being an excellent corporate social citizen. The report includes Carrefour's corporate and social business, and responsibilities related to farmers, suppliers, food safety, team building, environment protection, emergency rescue and awards. The core concept in practicing Carrefour's corporate social responsibility mainly includes two parts: providing safe and healthy food for consumers and providing better career development and employment opportunities for employees and young graduates.
