Editor's Note:
An exhibition of rare Tibetan relics opened to the public at the Capital Museum in Beijing on Tuesday. A total of 221 relics on loan from 21 cultural organizations across the country are on display, including Buddhist iconography, Thangka paintings, gold works and other treasures. Featured at the exhibition is “Emperor Taizong Receiving the Tibetan Envoy” - a 1.29 meter-long silk painting that depicts a meeting between the Tang dynasty emperor and a delegation from Tibet - marking the first time the work is being shown outside the Palace Museum in decades. The exhibition will run until July 22. Photos: Li Hao/GT
