The Ministry of Public Security had over 140,000 illegal guns and explosives destroyed in China as part of a crackdown on gun-related crime on September 20, 2018. The ministry set up one main venue in Chongqing, five central venues in Heilongjiang’s Qiqihar, Jiangsu’s Nanjing, Hubei’s Wuhan, Guangdong’s Guangzhou and Yunnan’s Kunming, and 140 other venues to destroy the illegal guns and explosives seized by police from 146 cities across China.
