Editor's Note:
A Julia butterfly perches itself atop a sunbathing yacare caiman in Pantanal, Brazil in August 2014. Butterflies often land on the heads of caimans to drink the salt from their eyes. Staring up at its colorful visitor, this caiman gets a shock as a butterfly lands on its face, hoping for a sip of some crocodile tears. Photographer Wim van den Heever was snapping caimans in Brazil's Pantanal wetlands when he perfectly captured the bright orange insect getting a little too close for comfort. Caimans are reptiles closely related to alligators and crocodiles, with six different species found in Central and South America. Photos: CFP
