Paintings drawn by Syrian refugee children are on display at Zhong Gallery in Beijing on Friday. The exhibition is part of a Syrian child-care project initiated by ASAM (Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants), a UNHCR partner, and the Common Future Foundation, a Chinese international volunteer service project under the guidance of China Children and Teenagers' Fund and Chinese Initiative on International Law. Happy at Home by ALA H. The 14-year-old girl now lives in Turkey with her 3 siblings. Instead of going to school, she makes slippers at home to help out with the family expenses. She said that she is happy as long as she is with families.

The 13-year-old painter of Faces I , now working at a Syrian restaurant in Turkey, got separated with his family when fleeing from wars in Syria. “Dad, mom, grandpa, where are you now? Don’t you want me anymore? I’m almost not up to it now,” cried the painter.
The Ship by AHMET A. The 10-year-old boy expressed his wish to go to Germany by ship because his much-loved uncle lives there.
Birthday by MERVE M. “I celebrate my birthday in my dream, and then I am very happy,” said the 10-year-old girl, who has been in Turkey for 5 years.
The 13-year-old painter of Younger brother’s palm lost his younger brother in war. “I still remember the palm of my younger brother, small and cute. He often comes to my dream,” said the painter, who moved to Turkey five years ago and now works at a woodworking shop.
